MSC Tsunami Hits the Finals Sunday, August 24th @ 8:30pm
The Midlakes Championship Finals were held at
the new Mercer Island Country Club pool where for the first time in Midlakes
Water Polo history the finals were played in an 8 lane all deep pool. Mercerwood has shown depth and strength in all age groups by qualifying
number 1 in 10's, 12's, 14's and 17's. Can the tidal wave continue on
Sunday?
Here is a recap of how the games went on
Championship Finals Sunday.
14's Deliver On
Anticipated Drama
After spending a year playing together at the highest level in
the country, the top youth players in the state are divided between
summertime clubs and forced to go head to head. Mercerwood has looked
unstoppable all season, but Phantom Lake is out to defend their title.
Would the game live up to all the hype? The fans certainly got their
moneys worth out of this contest. GAME REPORT
10's, Tiny In Stature, Big Competitors
Don't think for a second that these little guys aren't big time
competitors. Every year they provide some of the most memorable moments
of the tournament. They definitely came through in 2003 as the
Mercerwood Manta Rays took on the Norwood Ducks for the championship
title. It was a game that saw big leads build, and big leads diminish
for an exciting finish. GAME REPORT
Mercerwood 17's Overpowering In Finals
The Norwood Ducks took flight in the first quarter and then
started to head south for the winter as Mercerwood used overwhelming
depth and power to put this game out of reach early.

MSC Completes the Age Group Sweep With
The 12's!
Mobbed by the press after the match, Dan "Horace" Smith discusses what
kind of challenges he faced going for the sweep. "I'm just happy for the
kids and how hard they worked. They deserve it." The 12's were
definitely put to the test by MIBC in the first three quarters, but came
out on top applying huge pressure in the fourth quarter.
